چکیده
Objective: To compare ultrasound guided and palpatory method of radial artery Catheterization in terms number attempts, total time required, frequency catheterization first attempt haematoma formation after the procedure. Study Design: Randomized Control Trial. Setting: Intensive Care Units Jinnah Burn Reconstructive Surgery Center Lahore Sharif Medical City Hospital. Period: June to December 2021. Material & Methods: 126 patients were included using nonprobability purposive sampling divided into group A: ultrasound, B: group. Number time, successful1st presence was recorded analyzed outcome. Results: In 85.7% A, done while 74.6% B. mean attempts 1.14 ± 0.35 1.29 0.52 B (p=0.08). Haematoma rate 12.7% A 22.2% Mean 71.0 26.4 minutes 95.5 62.3 Conclusion: Ultrasound is better than method, particularly middle aged patients.

Three-step method for ultrasound-guided central vein catheterization.
BACKGROUND The long-axis view and in-plane needle approach (LAX-IP) for ultrasound-guided central vein catheterization is considered ideal because of the quality of real-time imaging. We describe a novel technique, using a step-by-step procedure, to overcome the pitfalls associated with the LAX-IP. This study was undertaken to demonstrate the clinical utility of this approach. METHODS All ope...

متن کاملEfficacy of ultrasound-guided radial artery catheterization: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
INTRODUCTION Ultrasound guidance has emerged as an adjunct for central vein catheterization in both adults and children. However, the use of ultrasound guidance for radial arterial catheterization has not been well established. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy of ultrasound guidance for radial artery catheterization. METHODS PubMed, Embase, and the C...
متن کاملReview of Ultrasound-Guided Radial Artery Catheter Placement.
Radial artery catheters are commonly placed for continuous blood pressure monitoring, frequent arterial blood gas analysis, or frequent blood sampling for diagnostic testing. Radial artery cannulation can be challenging and ultrasound guidance has emerged as a valuable adjunct for the placement of radial artery catheters. The advantages of ultrasound guidance include: real-time visualization of...
متن کاملUltrasound-Guided Radial Artery Compression to Assess Blood Pressure
INTRODUCTION We proposed using compression sonography to observe the coaptation and collapse of the radial artery as a surrogate for automated cuff blood pressures (BP). We hypothesize that the pressure required to achieve coaptation and complete collapse of the artery would correlate to the diastolic and systolic BP, respectively. This pilot study was to assess the feasibility of ultrasound-gu...
